Learn how to stack the ribs over the pelvis.
Most people I work with have some degree of scissor position.
And this can create all sorts of problems in the body…
Limited range of motion.
Excess stress into the low back.
Chronic stiff and tight body
Poor breathing
Why the stack?
Learning to “stack” the ribs and pelvis will get you in a better position so that your arms and legs can move more freely as they’re designed.
The stack will also help open up rotational and side to side movements. If you play tennis, golf, surfing, or any other rotational sport, this is a vital piece of the puzzle!
I know from experience as a surfer and tennis player — when I was stuck in the scissor position, I had way less range of motion and way more back pain.
Breathing also improves with a stacked position because you can air in from 360 degrees. People stuck in the scissor position will have to use more chest and neck breathing to get air in. This creates unnecessary tension through the chest and neck.
